Cabinet handles are a small detail you will find on the cupboards and cabinets in your kitchen or bathroom. Although it’s only a small detail, choosing an appropriate handle can really make the difference between a good makeover and a bad one. They’re also relatively simple to install, as long as you have the tools required. These are:
- A screwdriver
- Installation template
- The handle
- Drill bit
Step 1: Marking your holes
The first step to installing a cabinet handle is to mark out where you have to drill. You can use this by placing the template against the cabinet and using a pencil to mark the holes that will be drilled.
Step 2: Drilling your holes
Once you have marked the holes, drill into them. We recommend that if you don’t drill through wood often that you practice on a spare piece of wood.
Step 3: Screwing the handle onto the cabinet
Now you should have screws holes on your cabinet. Mark up your new cabinet handle and fasten it into the cabinet from the internal side of the cabinet. Once it’s in, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws and the handle should be securely fitted.
